UMO Women's Soccer Down Bears Of Shaw 1-0

RALEIGH, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team defeated the Bears of Shaw University 1-0 on the road in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C.
 
Game Information
The Trojans, who controlled much of the possession in the game, were held scoreless until the 86th minute when Ashley Lindsay found Erica Boswell and the sophomore put home the game-winning goal for Mount Olive.

Following the goal, UMO shut the game down not allowing a shot for the remainder of the contest.
 
Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Boswell with her game-winning goal on the only shot she took during the game. Lindsay also registered a shot in the game to go along with her one assist. 

Taylor Lewis (2-0) in goal for the Trojans was not challenged much as she recorded two saves on just two Bear shots on target in all 90 minutes played.

Bear Leaders
Shaw was led by Philine Diekhoff who had two shots and one of the two shots on goal for SU in the game.

Key Moment
The goal by Boswell proved to be the only score UMO needed to go along with great possession play in order to earn the win against Shaw.
 
Up Next: Mount Olive will remain on the road as the Trojans travel to Franklin Springs, Ga. to take on the Lions of Emmanuel College September 21 at 12 p.m.
