Women's Soccer Stalls With Newberry 0-0 In Double Overtime

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina– The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team drew with the Wolves of Newberry College 0-0 in the Trojans home opener at Amon Field Wednesday night in Mount Olive, N.C.

Game Information
The Trojans were held to just four shots in the opening half as Newberry recorded six but neither team scored a goal. The second half was much of the same and the contest was tightly contested and much of a possession game. After both teams were unable to score and the game went into extra time, NC put in two shots on frame but UMO kept them off the board and once again could not find the golden goal.

Mount Olive had a corner kick late in the second overtime period but a misfire did allow the service to get into the box and so went the best chance UMO had to take the win. Once more the Trojans were awarded a corner kick in the winding second of the game but were held off the boards and the game ended in a draw.

Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Jordyn Davis and Sara Berglund who both recorded four shots, two on frame, in the contest.

Taylor Lewis (3-0-1) in goal for the Trojans recorded seven saves on seven Wolves shots on target in all 90 minutes played.

Wolves Leaders
Newberry was led by Daphne Heyaime who had eight shots, one on goal in the game.
