UMO Women's Soccer Tops Bobcats 3-1

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina– The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team took down the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College 3-1 in Conference Carolinas action at Amon Field Saturday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C.
 
Game Information
The Trojans were held without a shot for the first two minutes but were unable to put home another shot on target for another 19 minutes. Following the lull, Jaelyn Brown placed a pass in front of Sara Berglund who powered a shot past the Bobcat keeper for the go-ahead score in the 21st minute.

The score remained 1-0 going into the half but UMO added two more goals in the 48th and 63rd minutes respectively by Kali Schindler and Brown. Lees-McRae was able to take away the shutout in the 66th minute but did not have enough in the tank to complete a run and Mount Olive took the final score 3-1.

 
Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Sara Berglund who scored what would be the game-winner on five shots, two on goal, in the game. Jaelyn Brown added a goal and an assist in the game and Schindler also had a score for the green and black. 

Taylor Lewis (4-0-1, 2-0-0) in goal for the Trojans faced no shots in the first half as she was replaced by Nicole Solicito in the second half.

Bobcat Leaders
Lees-McRae was led by Corby Bailey who had the lone score for the Bobcats.
