Trojan Women's Soccer Takes Down Southern Wesleyan 5-1

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina– The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team toppled the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University 5-1 in Conference Carolinas action at Amon Field Saturday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C.
 
Game Information
The Trojans scored quickly as Jaelyn Brown pushed home the game's first goal 1:50 into the game. Mount Olive went onto score two more goals in the 32nd (Kali Schindler) and 40th (Jasmine Pinter) minutes to boost the cushion out to three. UMO suffered a setback with a player being sent off in the 41st minute but Southern Wesleyan did not score for the remainder of the half.

Despite being a man down the Trojans did not let up as they pushed home two more goals in the 57th (Emily Sanders) and 62nd (Emma Campbell) minutes to add to the insurance UMO needed. Southern Wesleyan was able to find a goal late in the 78th minute to prevent being shutout but could not complete the comeback and Mount Olive took the 5-1 victory.

 
Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Sara Berglund who assisted on two of Mount Olive's goals. Campbell, Pinter, Brown, Sanders, and Schindler all scored in the contest for UMO. 

Taylor Lewis (5-0-1, 3-0-0) in goal for the Trojans recorded two saves on two shots before she was replaced by Nicole Solicito in the second half. Solicito recorded two saves on three shots.

Warrior Leaders
Southern Wesleyan was led by Ashley Romanowski who had the lone score for the Warriors.
