Women's Soccer Is Victorious On Senior Day In Overtime Thriller

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina– The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team took down the Crusaders of North Greenville University in overtime in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Amon Field. It was also senior day for MacKenzie Abbott, Aimee Darrow, and Kendall Blaine.
 
Game Information
Mount Olive recorded the same amount of shots in both the first and second periods but the offense could not get anything into the back of the net and both teams stalemated after regulation. 

After being outshot in regulation UMO kicked it up in the first overtime blasting home three shots to the Crusaders two. As the final minutes ticked away Sara Berglund broke away and Riley Baker found her teammate in space. The duo connected for the game-winner with two minutes left in overtime and gave Mount Olive the win. 

 
Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Sara Berglund who scored the game-winner. 

Taylor Lewis (8-0-1, 7-0-0) in the game recorded 10 saves on 10 shots.

Crusader Leaders
North Greenville was led by Megan Behl who had 14 shots for the Crusaders.

Key Moment
The late overtime goal by Berglund proved to be the deciding factor as the Trojans needed just the one goal to take the win on senior day.
