Women's Tennis Defeats King 9-0 In Conference Carolinas Opener

Alejandra Hernandez served an ace on match point to clinch a sweep in doubles play and University of Mount Olive went on to defeat King University 9-0 in Conference Carolinas women's tennis Friday at Walker Tennis Center. The match was the Trojans' first in three weeks due to the weather.

Hernandez and Francesca Ceppi won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles after Hernandez's serve on the deuce court caught the doubles line and the King player was unable to make a play on the ball. The win gave the Trojans a 3-0 lead going into singles play. Ceppi won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Paulina Delgado posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles to clinch the team victory.
