Francesca Ceppi posted a straight-set win at No. 1 singles and combined with Roxanne Chouinard for a victory at No. 1 doubles as University of Mount Olive defeated UNC Pembroke 5-4 in non-conference women's tennis Tuesday at Pembroke, N.C. The win was the Trojans' fifth in a row.
Mount Olive (5-1) took two of three doubles matches and built a 4-2 lead after singles wins by Ceppi and Chouinard. Alejandra Hernandez won 7-6, 7-5 at No. 3 singles to clinch the team victory.
Mount Olive returns to action this weekend as the Trojans travel to Upstate South Carolina for a pair of Conference Carolinas matches. The Trojans are at Limestone Friday at 2 p.m., then at Converse Saturday at 11 a.m.
