Women's Tennis Splits First Two Conference Carolinas Matches

The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team opened Conference Carolinas play on a winning note and finished with a 1-2 record overall in its three-match weekend road trip. The Trojans split their two conference matches, defeating Emmanuel 6-3 Friday before falling 8-1 Saturday at Erskine. The Trojans fell 9-0 at Francis Marion Sunday.

Against Erskine, Stella Di Michelle won in straight sets at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-3 victory. That would be the lone win for Mount Olive (1-3 overall, 1-1 Conference Carolinas).

Mount Olive's singles and doubles results against Emmanuel were not yet available.

After its first two attempts were rained out, Mount Olive hopes to play its home opener Friday as the Trojans play host to Belmont Abbey Friday in Conference Carolinas action. Match time is 2 p.m. at Walker Tennis Center.
