Women's Tennis Defeats King 7-2

University of Mount Olive defeated King University 7-2 in Conference Carolinas women's tennis in Bristol, Tenn. Friday afternoon.

Stella Di Michele and Alejandra Hernandez picked up the first win for Mount Olive (6-5 Overall, 5-1 Conference Carolinas) in #1 doubles as the duo won 8-4. Jennifer Byrd and Paulina Delgado continued by winning #2 doubles 8-6. King (4-11, 1-5) then attempted to win #3 doubles but the duo of Mulan and Nicole La Chappelle closed out the match with a final score of 8-7 and Mount Olive took the momentum moving into singles play.

Di Michele, Hernandez, Delgado, and Bartz all gave Mount Olive the cushion it need to take the match as they all won their respective singles matches. King took the final two singles matches, but Mount Olive picked up the win anyways.

Mount Olive will have a quick turnaround as the Trojans head to Banner Elk, N.C. to take on Lees-McRae Saturday at 11 a.m.
