Raleigh, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team glided past William Peace, 9-0, in its spring season-opener on Sunday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • UMO opened play by sweeping doubles play as Stella DiMichelle and Alejandra Hernandez earned an 8-0 win at No. 1 with Mariana Gamboa and Nicole La Chappelle sweeping at No. 2, 8-0 as well.
  • After dominating doubles play, the Trojans looked similarly dominant in singles action.
  • All singles matches that were competed were won in straight-sets by the Trojans.
  • At No. 1 singles, DiMichelle captured her sixth victory in her last seven matches with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
  • Much like DiMichelle, Hernandez at No. 2, La Chappelle at No. 3, Julissa Quintanilla at No. 4, and Emma Burroughs at No. 5 all won their singles matches in 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
