Tigerville, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team split a pair of matches to open Conference Carolinas action as the Trojans fell to Southern Wesleyan, 5-4, before defeating North Greenville University, 5-4, in Central, S.C. and Tigerville, S.C.

MATCH ONE
- In doubles play, Southern Wesleyan opened up a 2-0 lead with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles and an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
- The Trojans cut into SWU's lead as Stella Di Michele and Julie Gonzalez-Rodriguez captured an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
- After the Warriors increased their lead to 3-1 with a win at No. 1 singles, Mount Olive tied the match at three with a 7-5, 7-5 win at No, 3 singles by Alejandra Hernandez and a 7-5, 7-5 victory at No. 5 singles for Mariana Gamboa.
- The Trojans and Warriors each earned a victory to tie the match at four heading into the match-deciding set, as Gonzalez-Rodriguez kept UMO afloat with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles.
- SWU captured the match victory with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
MATCH TWO
- The Trojans again fell behind after doubles competition as North Greenville jumped out to a 2-1 lead.
- NGU picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles to open a 3-1 advantage, but UMO earned two-straight victories to even the score at 3-3.
- The Crusaders moved ahead 4-3 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.
- Mount Olive responded with a 7-6, 7-3 win at No. 5 singles and a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles to capture the match victory, 5-4.

The Trojans return to action on Tuesday as UMO travels to Misenheimer, N.C. to battle Pfeiffer University at 2 p.m. in a Conference Carolinas match.
