Gaffney, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team dropped a Conference Carolinas match to Limestone College, 6-3, on Friday evening in Gaffney, S.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • Limestone opened the match by sweeping doubles play and taking a 3-0 lead.
  • The Trojans forced tight matchups at No. 1 and 2 doubles as senior Stella Di Michele and sophomore Julie Gonzalez-Rodriguez fell 8-4 at No. 1 and senior Alejandra Hernandez and freshman Areej Fareh were narrowly defeated at No. 2, 8-6.
  • UMO battled back in singles action as the Trojans split the six singles matches with the Saints, but it was not quite enough as Limestone took the match, 6-3.
  • The Trojans captured victories at No. 1, 2, and 3 singles with Di Michele earning a 6-0, 3-6, 7-6 win at No. 1, Gonzalez-Rodriguez capturing a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2, and Hernandez grabbing a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at No. 3.
