Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team swept past King University, 9-0, in Conference Carolinas action on Sunday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • To open the match, UMO swept doubles action from King.
  • Senior Stella Di Michele and sophomore Julie Gonzalez-Rodriguez took an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, while senior Alejandra Hernandez and freshman Areej Fareh captured an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.
  • In singles action, the Trojans continued their strong play.
  • At No. 1 singles, Di Michele earned a 6-2, 6-1 win while Gonzalez-Rodriguez powered past her opponent at No. 2 singles, 8-1.
  • Hernandez glided to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles and Fareh grabbed an 8-3 triumph at No. 4 singles.
  • Wrapping up the singles results, junior Nicole La Chappelle captured a comeback victory at No. 5 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.
