Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team edged past Barton College, 5-4, in Conference Carolinas action on Tuesday evening in Mount Olive, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- The Trojans opened the match by taking two of the three doubles matches.
- Senior Stella Di Michele and sophomore Julie Gonzalez-Rodriguez captured an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles while senior Alejandra Hernandez and freshman Areej Fareh slipped past their opponents at No. 2 doubles, 8-7.
- In singles action, UMO split with the Bulldogs to earn the Trojans the match victory.
- Gonzalez-Rodriguez grabbed a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles while Fareh glided past her opponent at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
- With the match tied at four, junior Mariana Gamboa won the match for the Trojans with a come-from-behind 0-6, 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 6 singles.
