Trojans Fall To No. 4 Columbus State In NCAA DII Southeast Regional No. 1

Columbus, Ga. – The eighth-seeded University of Mount Olive women's tennis team fell to top-seeded Columbus State University, 5-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional No. 1 in Columbus, Georgia.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • Columbus State started the match with a 3-0 sweep of doubles play.
  • Seniors Stella Di Michele and Julie Gonzalez-Rodriguez battled, but fell, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles to the fifth-ranked doubles team in the nation.
  • The Cougars earned the match victory with a pair of wins in singles action.
  • Senior Alejandra Hernandez fell at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, while freshman Areej Fareh dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles.

NOTES

  • The Trojans' end their season with a 12-8 overall record as UMO earned its first Conference Carolinas Tournament championship.
