MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team swept Lees-McRae College on Friday afternoon in Conference Carolinas competition at the John Neal Walker Tennis Courts in Mount Olive, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- The Trojans came out of the doubles round holding the 3-0 advantage over the Bobcats.
- Nicole La Chappelle and Emma Burroughs won the first point for UMO downing the No. 3 doubles pair for LMC 8-2.
- Alex Goffin and Jennifer Byrd won the No. 2 doubles point 8-2 as well and Sonja Gärtner and Areej Fareh won at No. 1, 8-4.
- Like with the men, the women started with the odd numbers beginning the singles round.
- Byrd picked up the fourth UMO match point with a 6-0, 6-0, win over the No. 5 LMC player.
- Fareh clinched the women's match as she picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 3 flight, while Gärtner wrapped up the odd flights with a three-set, 6-1, 2-6, 10-7, win at the No. 1 position.
- The final three games were played with pro set rules as Goffin won the No. 2 flight 8-1, La Chappelle went 8-3 in her win at No. 4 and Burroughs closed out the match with an 8-3 win at No. 6.
