MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive Trojans defeated the Crusaders of North Greenville University 6-1 on Friday afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's tennis action at the John Neal Walker Tennis Center in Mount Olive, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • North Greenville came out of the doubles round winning two of the three matches claiming the doubles point.
  • Ece Yuksel and Emma Burroughs dealt the No. 3 duo from NGU a 6-2 loss, while their No. 1 & 2 pairs won 6-1, 6-4 respectively.
  • The Trojans picked up their game in the singles round as all UMO players won their singles flights to give UMO the 6-1 victory. 
  • Lina Maria Alarcon got the singles action started with a quick 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 flight.
  • Emma Burroughs followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 and Deike Schipper won the No. 4 flight 6-1, 6-3.
  • The odd numbers closed out the match as Carmen Espinos won the No. 5 flight 6-0, 6-0, and Arianna Orozco the No. 3 flight, 6-1, 6-1.
  • Ece Yuksel finished the match with a three-set victory in the No. 1 singles flight 4-6, 6-2, 10-4.
