SUMTER, S.C. - No. 4 Mount Olive defeated the No. 5 Bulldogs of Barton College on Friday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship Tournament at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- The Trojans got off to a rocky start as they found themselves trailing 1-0 after dropping the doubles point.
- Ece Yuksel and Emma Burroughs won the No. 3 flight but Barton took flights No.1 and 2 to win the single doubles point.
- Mount Olive turned on the burners in the singles round winning the first four bouts to clinch the 4-1 win.
- Yuksel quickly knotted the match score at 1-1 with her 6-3, 6-0 win in flight No. 1.
- Lina Maria Alarcon finished up next with her 6-2, 6-4 win in flight No. 2, giving UMO a 2-1 match lead.
- Deike Schipper and Carmen Espinos won flights No. 4 and 5, respectively, each in three sets.
- Schipper won her match 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, while Espinos clinched the match win with her 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 three-setter victory.
