UMO's Hannah Glover Selected As Conference Carolinas Nominee For 2019 NCAA Woman Of The Year

University of Mount Olive women's track and field student-athlete Hannah Glover is the Conference Carolinas nominee for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, which recognizes excellence in athletics, academics, and service and leadership. Glover's selection marks the 12th time in the last 14 years at least one Mount Olive student-athlete has represented Conference Carolinas for the award.

"Hannah is a young lady who exemplifies leadership, hard work, and a committed student in the classroom and on the field. We are pleased that she was selected as the conference nominee for Woman of the Year. She is definitely deserving of this nomination," said Dr. LaToya Lindsey Associate Director of Athletics/SWA.

As a Trojan student-athlete, Glover was a member of six Conference Championship teams, earned Academic All-Conference honors four times, is a five-time Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll honoree, a two-time National STUDENT-Athlete Day recipient, and was awarded the 2019 UMO Outstanding Recreation and Leisure Studies Major Award.

Glover earned Southeast All-Region honors in the women's Hammer twice and was the conference record holder in discus in both 2016-17 & 2017-18. During her sophomore year, Glover was the Conference Carolinas Champion in both the Hammer and Discus while also earning First-Team All-Conference honors during the Outdoor season.

In the community, Hannah volunteered with the Make A Wish and Be The Match organizations. Glover also helped with cleaning up the town of Mount Olive after the 2018 hurricane, serving meals at the ADLA soup kitchen, assisted at the Kitty Askins center, and helped organize the senior games and a murder mystery dinner fundraiser for the theater club at UMO.

Glover will graduate in August of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

In early September, the NCAA Woman of the Year selection committee will name the Top 30 honorees, which include 10 women from each division. At the end of September, the selection committee will select and announce nine finalists, with three from each division. The NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics will select the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year from those finalists.

All 30 Woman of the Year honorees will be recognized, and the 2019 Woman of the Year announced, at an awards dinner at the Westin Indianapolis on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019.
