Bristol, Tenn. – The University of Mount Olive women's volleyball team dropped a three-set match to King University in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon.

FIRST SET

  • The Trojans were stymied early on as the Tornado took a 6-2 lead out of the gate.
  • UMO looked to work itself back into the match by cutting into the King lead at 8-4.
  • King ran off an 8-2 lead in route to the 25-14 victory.

SECOND SET

  • The Tornado ran out to a 6-0 lead forcing a Mount Olive timeout.
  • The onslaught continued for King, as the Trojans found themselves down 15-3 just past the midpoint.
  • UMO attempted to make a comeback late, but could not come closer than seven points before King used a 6-0 run to win the set.

THIRD SET

  • Mount Olive showed plenty of fight in what would be the final stanza, as the Trojans held the lead throughout much of the early portion of the set.
  • The Tornado tied the set 10-10 and looked poised to run away in the final frame.
  • UMO came back to tie King at 22-22 before the Tornado recorded the final three points to win the match.
