Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches in Kornegay Arena.

FIRST SET
- Mount Olive struggled early on, as Virginia State came out as the aggressor.
- UMO pulled to within 17-14, but never got closer.
SECOND SET
- The Trojans reversed their fortune by taking an early lead at 6-5.
- A quick response by VSU turned the momentum in Virginia State's favor, as they took 14-10 lead in route to a 25-21 set victory.
THIRD SET
- The Trojans roared back in the third frame, jumping out to a 4-0 lead and forcing a VSU timeout.
- Mount Olive continued to control the lead coming out of the timeout, amassing its largest lead at 22-11.
- VSU looked to make a massive comeback late, but its 9-1 run was stymied as UMO sealed the set victory with a Virginia State attack error.
FOURTH SET
- In a hard-fought set, UMO held a small lead early on.
- The Trojans began to increase their lead through the mid-portion.
- VSU made a strong push in the latter stages, closing to within 24-22, but UMO slammed the door with a kill by freshman Kamber Skeen off an assist from junior Casey Fiechter.
FIFTH SET
- UMO was forced to fight back from an early deficit, but could not as VSU pulled away in the final points.

- Junior Karley Pounds led the Trojans with a 12 kills and four blocks.
- Skeen led UMO with a double-double of 35 assists and 12 digs.
- Fiechter compiled 26 digs to lead Mount Olive.

FIRST SET
- Both teams opened the match on fire, as Coker hit a scorching .543, while the Trojans hit .405.
SECOND SET
- Mount Olive responded in the second set by evening the match.
- UMO withstood a late Coker run to hold on for the 25-23 victory.
THIRD SET
- Coker returned in the third stanza with a .318 attacking percentage and a convincing 25-19 win to take back momentum.
FOURTH SET
- Mount Olive would not go quietly, as the Trojans stormed past the Cobras with a 25-17 victory.
FIFTH SET
