MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's volleyball team fell to the Tornado of King University in four sets on Saturday afternoon at Kornegay Arena in Mount Olive, NC. Mount Olive moves to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in conference, while King improves to 3-5 overall, 1-1 in conference action.
GAME INFORMATION
The Tornado came out hot winning the opening set 25-10 over the Trojans. UMO came back to win the second set 25-23 just holding off the rallying Tornado. King came back in the third set to win 25-21 and then claimed the fourth set due to errors by the Trojans 25-16.
Trojan Leaders
For the second consecutive game, Amara Eziakonwa led the Trojans in kills with 17 in the match. The freshman also tallied a .419 hitting percentage. Mia Dietz led with 15 assists while teammates Essi Pentinnen and Madison Goodman each tallied eight in the match.
Jimnelly Del Valle led the defense with 17 digs and Dietz join Del Valle in double-figures with 10 digs of her own. Freshman Alyssa Jackson made four solo stops in the match, a career-high for the Goldsboro, N.C. native.
Tornado Leaders
Julie Ward and Tristyn Lozano led the attack for King with 14 kills each. The Tornado setter Keri RIcker tallied 38 assists in the match and three King players recorded double-digit digs in Ward (17), Sydney Pigage (16), and Ricker (10).
Key Moment
King overcame a six-point deficit in the fourth set and went on a rally to take a 10 point lead, ultimately winning the fourth set 25-16 and the match 3-1.

The Trojans are back in action on Tuesday, September 24, when they host regional foe in the Fayetteville State Broncos. The Trojans and Broncos meet at Kornegay Arena with first serve set for 6 PM.
