Emmanuel Defeats Mount Olive In Three Sets

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Georgia - The University of Mount Olive women's volleyball team fell in three sets to the Lions of Emmanuel College on Saturday afternoon in Franklin Springs, GA. The Trojans fell to 3-9 overall and 0-6 in Conference Carolinas action. Emmanuel improves to 9-8 and 5-1 in conference.

GAME INFORMATION
The Lions took control early winning the opening set 25-11. The Trojans held a lead in the second set but a 9-2 run by the Lions gave them a 25-20 win in the second frame. Emmanuel took an early lead in the third set but Mount Olive climbed back within one, 20-19., but the Lions held off the Trojans to win the final set 25-23.

Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Amara Eziakonwa with nine kills on the day. Starr Sergent was close behind with seven of her own. Madison Goodman led the setting game with 16 assists while Jimnelly Del Valle had 13 digs. 

Lion Leaders
The Lions were led by Mia McKensey and Jenna Woodruff with eight kills each. Stephanie Hardy tallied a match-high 18 assists while Aysha Avery led the Lions with nine digs.

Key Moment
The key moment of the match came in the third set when the Lions called a timeout as the Trojans pulled within a point, 20-19. Emmanuel was able to regroup in the timeout and close out the set and match on a 5-4 run winning set three 25-23 and match 3-0.
