North Greenville Defeats Mount Olive in Straight Sets Friday Night

TIGERVILLE, South Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's volleyball team fell in three sets to the Crusaders of North Greenville University in Conference Carolinas action. The Trojans fall to 5-13 overall and 1-9 against conference foes, while North Greenville improves to 16-11 and 8-3.

GAME INFORMATION
The Crusaders opened the game with some fire as they quickly opened up a six-point lead in the first set. North Greenville kept things going coming from behind in set two to win 25-18 following a 9-0 run in the middle of the set. Mount Olive hung with North Greenville in the third set keeping within three points, 19-16, but the Crusaders took control from there forward to win the final set 25-19.

Trojan Leaders
The Trojans were led by senior Ania Keene with eight kills and a match-high six service aces. Starr Sergent and Amara Eziakonwa each added six kills on the evening. Madison Goodman tallied a team-high 15 assists and Jimnelly Del Valle collected 14 digs. 

Crusader Leaders
The Crusaders were led by Caroline Forster with 13 kills. Eaden Shockley and Abby Pyke split the setting role recording 19 and 16 assists respectively. Whitley Kahler led the defense with nine digs.

Key Moment
The biggest momentum swing came in the second set when the Crusaders went on a 9-0 rally taking a 21-13 lead after trailing 8-4 earlier in the second set.

The Trojans return to action tomorrow, Nov. 2, as they continue their weekend road trip at Southern Wesleyan University. First serve between the Trojans and Warriors is set for 3 PM and can be watched on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network.
