Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth To Open Season

Greenville, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's cross country team earned a fifth-place finish among non-Division I teams at the Furman Invitational.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

    •Freshman Leah Hanle led the Trojans with an 11th place finish among DII runners in a time of 23:00.56, finishing ahead of 32 Division 1 runners.

    •Fellow freshman Meredith Lorient finished 23rd in the non-DI field with a time of 23:25.48 in her first collegiate action.

    •Rounding out the top 30 finishers was senior Kelsey Valentine, who finished 30th in a time of 23:57.55.
