High Point, N.C. - Celine Ritter of the University of Mount Olive women's cross country team and the reigning Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
Ritter narrowly edged teammate Leah Hanle in the inaugural Mount Olive Twilight race held on the UMO campus Friday, August 31. She finished the three-lap 5K course throughout Mount Olive's campus in 23:44.3 minutes. Mount Olive as a team finished first of four teams competing with 18 total points.
UMO is back at it when the head to Furman University for the Furman Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15, in Greenville. S.C.
