UMO Holds At No. 22 In USTFCCCA National Rankings

Mount Olive, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive women's cross country team claimed the No. 22 ranking in this week's U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association national poll.

The Trojans hold on to the No. 22 spot in this weeks National Coaches poll after a good finish at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa. Mount Olive completed the race coming in 38th of 41 schools.

Leah Hanle led the Trojans with an 8th place finish in a field of Division I competitors. She was the highest finishing Division II runner and earned the Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week for her performance.

UMO still holds on to the No. 2 spot in the USTFCCCA Southeast Region. The Royals of Queens (N.C.) hold the first place spot ahead of UMO while North Georgia knocked out Anderson (S.C.) to take the No. 3 regional rank.

Mount Olive returns to action in a few weeks as they travel to Charlotte, N.C., for the Royal Cross Country Challenge at Queens University on October 12.
