Hanle Garners Third Conference Carolinas Runner Of The Week Honor Of The Season

High Point, N.C. - Leah Hanle of the University of Mount Olive women's cross country team was named the Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week for the third time this season as announced by the league office Tuesday morning. The honor is her third consecutive award as Hanle finished second at the Royal Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 12, and an 8th place finish at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., on Sept. 30.

Hanle received her third honor following a high individual and team finishes at the NCAA National Preview Meet in Pittsburgh, Pa., this past weekend. Hanle's 1st place finish, in 21:54 minutes, gave the junior from Lichtenstein, Germany, her first individual championship as she led the way for the 23rd nationally ranked Trojans to a 7th place team finish.

Mount Olive has two weeks off before they host the Conference Carolinas Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships in Mount Olive, N.C., on Saturday, November 3.
