Wilson, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell to hot-shooting Young Harris College, 94-78, on Saturday morning in the 45-Second Classic hosted by Barton College.

How It Happened


  • UMO started fast, taking a 9-4 lead just shy of three minutes into the contest with seven points coming from freshman Cameron Robinson.
  • Young Harris responded by taking its first lead at 18-17.
  • It did not take long for the Trojans to retake the lead as Mount Olive grabbed a 20-18 lead on a triple by junior DeAndre Barber.
  • The Mountain Lions jumped ahead with a 10-0 run to take a 45-38 lead that YHC would never relent.
  • In a hot-shooting first half, Young Harris shot 71.9% (23-32) from the field, while the Trojans shot 48.4% (15-31).
  • Both teams went 7-11 (63.6%) from beyond the arc in the first 20 minutes.


  • Young Harris dominated the final 20 minutes, only allowing the Trojans to come within 11 points.
  • Looking poised to make a run, UMO cut the YHC lead to 11, but the Mountain Lions promptly responded with a 9-5 run to help increase their lead.


  • Junior Tayon Gleaves poured in a career-best 23 points with four three-pointers to lead UMO.
