WINGATE, N.C. - The 5th nationally ranked University of Mount Olive men's cross country team finished first overall at the NCAA Divison II Southeast Regionals to advance to the NCAA Nationals for the sixth consecutive year.

  • The Trojans advance to the NCAA Division II Nationals, held on Nov. 18, for the sixth-consecutive year.
  • Senior Adam Craig led the Trojans finishing third overall with a time of 31:33.90.
  • Alexandre Durand moved into 15th in the UMO records with his time of 32:32.02 setting a new PR.
  • Jereamy Hall moved into 17th in the records with his new PR of 32:42.93 as he shaved nearly two minutes off his previous time.
  • Colin Fisher moves into 18th in the records shaving just under two minutes off his PR with a time of 32:43.34.
  • Tai Smith sits 22nd in the UMO records and Daniel Francken took 23rd as both Trojans also ran new personal records. 


For the first time in team history, all runners on the men's team earned a spot on the All-Region Team.


"Our goals were to qualify for NCAA's, and if a win was within reach, go for it," said head coach Matt van Lierop. "Both teams achieved the first goal, and men were able to edge out Queens for the win. Now our attention is directed towards preparing for the NCAA championships."


The Trojans will gear up for the NCAA Nationals in Evansville, Ill. set for November 18.
