Daytona Beach, Fla. --- The University of Mount Olive softball team dropped a pair of games to Flagler College, 6-2 and 9-1 (5 innings), on Tuesday night in St. Augustine, Florida.

  • Flagler opened the scoring in the bottom of the third as the Saints pushed across three runs to take a 3-0 lead over Mount Olive.
  • A two-run home run in the fifth increased the Saints' advantage to 5-0.
  • The Trojans scored their only runs in the sixth on a two-run double to right-center field by junior Kayla Allen, as UMO trimmed Flagler's lead to 5-2.
  • Flagler added another run in the sixth as the Saints earned the 6-2 in in the first game.


  • Freshman Karen Foley led the Trojans with a pair of hits.


  • UMO scored first in the nightcap as junior Anna Ingram singled to left center, scoring freshman Kelsey Hayes to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead in the first.
  • The Saints answered with a run to tie the game at one in the bottom half of the first on a sacrifice fly.
  • Flagler took control of the game in the second inning, as the Saints scored four runs and took a 5-1 lead.
  • Adding a single run in the third and three runs in the fourth, Flagler pulled away for a 9-1 win in five innings.


  • Ingram tallied two hits and an RBI to power the Trojans in the second game.
